There are plenty of family events with fireworks to enjoy on the Grand Strand this summer.
From special holiday shows to “just because,” it’s not a summer night in Myrtle Beach without fireworks. It’s easy to plan a day of fun to end in time for a stellar light show in the sky before you retire for the night. There is some nearby your resort.
Here’s a guide to the shows on the Grand Strand.
Aside from “look up,” here’s what you should know going in.
On a boat. If you’re captain, make sure everyone’s vested up with one that fits before you leave the dock. Boating at night is a bit more of a hazard, so this applies to all ages and swimming abilities.
Hit the dollar store or one of many beach shops along the way. Pick up glow sticks for sure, but also anything that flashes or spins. It’s a long time to wait for fireworks, for a kid.
Comfy outdoor folding chairs and a picnic blanket are ideal. Pack a picnic, too, while you’re at it, with a small cooler for drinks.
Ohh. Ahh. Repeat.
Venture to southern North Myrtle Beach for dinner and shopping. Then stick around for the display. They’ll be on at 10 p.m. every Monday over the lake. Check the Barefoot Landing calendar for other celebrations this summer.
DID YOU KNOW? England once had a Fire Master. Queen Elizabeth I was a huge fan, maybe the first fan, of fireworks. Thus, she created the position of Fire Master of England. He was in charge of all the nation’s displays.
Here’s another place to dine and shop, then settle in for the fireworks. They’ll be on display on select Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays through the summer. Visit the Broadway at the Beach calendar for dates (all begin at 10 p.m.)
DID YOU KNOW? Fireworks can be dangerous. This is why it’s best to leave it to the professionals. More than half of fireworks injuries occur in the 30 days surrounding July 4. Wayward fireworks can also spark wildfires.
TicketReturn.Com Field is the home for Class A baseball all summer. And for Friday home dates, you can see postgame fireworks. Root for the home team, then watch the sparks fly after the final out. See the schedule for more.
DID YOU KNOW? If you work in a fireworks factory, you must wear cotton clothing. Synthetic fabrics generate static electricity, which could cause an accidental ignition.
In the center of the Grand Strand, enjoy the ocean and boardwalk before fireworks. Hot Summer Nights is a series of activities and live entertainment for the family. See the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk website for the schedule.
It’s not hard to convince your traveling crew to head out and catch fireworks on your Grand Strand getaway. These awesome sites have much more to offer, too. Here’s to happy and safe viewing.
